Me and My Boy

So after a nearly two week blogging hiatus--Luuuuv Month wore me out--I felt the need to post something.

When Connor started kindergarten, his schedule changed DRASTICALLY. Instead of being home with me every day all day, he began leaving for school every morning at 7:30, going to school until 3:00, and then to football practice with his dad (I was coaching volleyball) until about 6:00. By the time we got home and ate some dinner, it was 7:00 and bedtime for Connor is 8:00. Since volleyball ended, this schedule hasn't changed much since he loves going to basketball practice with his dad as well. Needless to say, Connor and I have not had much time together. So I decided to schedule some.

On President's Day, we went to Cokeville to get our family pictures taken, which I will share in my next post. Afterward, I took Connor up to Pine Creek Ski Area to teach him to ski. We just did the rope tow, but within a couple hours, I felt like he was ready to go up the lift. So the following Wednesday, we went back for a full day on the big hill. Tony was there as well, since the middle school was there for a school field day. We had a great time, and as my dad would say, Connor was a "shish-boomer." Afterward, Connor asked me if I thought he would be in the Olympics someday for skiing. I told him that you probably had to ski more than once a year to get that good. Here are some pics from our fabulous day!

I guess the skiing didn't give me enough time with my boy, so last week on Wednesday evening, we hit the road. He and I (without Tony or the girls) made the long trip to Casper for 1A/2A state basketball. We had a GREAT time watching my sisters play ball, swimming at the hotel, and watching more and MORE basketball! Connor is a basketball junkie and didn't complain for a second about watching 5 games per day for 3 straight days. (In fact, day before yesterday, he went with his dad to Ogden to watch Weber State play, and tomorrow we're heading back to Casper for a couple more days of basketball with 3A/4A state tournament. He can hardly wait!) It was great to see my parents, Violet, Sullivan, Olivia, and Tessa. And to spend a whole lot of one-on-one time with Connor!
