COUNTY FAIR

Now that we've been doing this 4-H thing for a few years, I think it's safe to say that the County Fair is the highlight of the summer for our kids. Connor and Mylie worked really hard this year and had a great experience showing their steers. Mariah loved coming along and spent most nights at the fair with all the cousins. We had quite a crew of Micheli cousins raising, showing, and selling steers this year. Alex, Ashton, Caden, Jaxon, Isac, Connor, and Mylie each worked hard with Tony, Angela, and Heidi patiently and faithfully working with them every day. There were plenty of tears along the way, but in the end, it was a fabulous experience once again. Brady absolutely loves fair as well! He loves looking at all the animals, going to the shows, and having his birthday there, too! It was Lewis's first experience with the fair, and basically, if cows are around, he's happy.

Bear Lake

Bear Lake is always such a great time! We went twice this year--once to Rendezvous Beach, and then later on, we went to the Northeast area (can't remember what it's called) for the Herman and Buhla Teichert family reunion. That's when these photos were taken. Nothing like some sand and water for hours of fun!

Splash Park

Green River has a really fun splash park, but we hadn't been there for a couple years, so one day, we loaded up and went. Mylie invited her friend, Peyton, to come along. It was kind of windy, which made the splash part of it pretty chilly, so once we all got wet and cold once, we opted to do some other things. Luckily, there is a regular playground there as well as the river and another island park. It was such a fun day!

Summer Camping Trip to Hoop Lake

When you live in Wyoming, and only 30 minutes from gorgeous mountains, you should probably go camping every year, right?!? But somehow, this summer was our very first family camping trip in the Uintas. And it was a huge hit with the kids! They definitely want to go back again next summer!

Brady spent most of the two days in his underwear. Not really sure WHY.....

Just loungin' with this cute little chubster.

These crazies got all the way in the freezing cold lake!

Hiking is always better with walking sticks.

Lewis got to ride on Dad's shoulders part of the way. Tony was limping like crazy (he had just had his calf stepped on by a steer a few days before), but he still insisted he come on the hike with us.

One final fun memory was the boat race. The girls spent lots of time (and had a little help from Mom) creating their cruise ship, Micheli of the Seas, while Connor elected to not do any work on his (typical). They set sail, and, not surprisingly, the girls' boat won!

Summer Sports

Mariah was our busy kid this summer, participating in both Tee ball and swimming lessons. It was her first year playing tee ball, and she loved it! She got to play on a team with Emma and Elli, which made it even better!  She made great improvements in her swimming lessons and can now swim independently in the small pool, but still isn't very confident in deeper water. We'll do lessons again next year to help her make that transition to the big pool.

Connor also played baseball again this year, and played for the Cardinals with his cousins, Caden, Jaxon, and Ashton.  He was selected to the 11-12 All-Star team this year and had a blast playing in the tournament in Powell. Possibly the highlight of his year was hitting his first home run!

Home Run Club

Mylie chose not to do baseball or swim lessons this year. But she was a champion babysitter, helping with the little boys at the park during games. I was sure grateful for her!
